One of our clients is a prominent American AI enterprise translation solution. They have multiple locations around the globe.

The client needed an efficient billing process. They sought us to automate invoice creation and eliminate manual work.

Managing multiple platforms with Salesforce as the primary CRM tool proved challenging for maintaining a seamless business process. Downloading Salesforce data and manually importing it into NetSuite as CSV files was time-consuming and inefficient. The necessity for an automated invoicing solution was clear, given the complexity of handling data across different platforms.

The client used Fivetran and Hightouch systems to ensure connectivity between platforms. Fivetran is an automated data movement tool. It efficiently transfers data between cloud data platforms.

Fivetran was chosen for its ability to sync connections and minimize API calls. Hightouch enables data transfer from any data warehouse into their business systems.

Additionally, Google BigQuery, a cloud-based big data analytics web service, was central to the client’s business operations. It processes massive read-only datasets from various sources effectively.

The client's system had already synchronized the ETL (Extract Transform Load) process between NetSuite data and BigQuery via Fivetran. Therefore, we proposed implementing a Reverse ETL method. This approach would sync data back to NetSuite, enabling the creation of invoices and running real-time reports.

The ETL process involved sending comprehensive data from NetSuite, including transactions, products, and customer details, to BigQuery through Fivetran. Simultaneously, the reverse ETL process would ensure that data flows from BigQuery back to NetSuite via the Hightouch system. This would enable efficient billing solutions by ensuring real-time data synchronization across platforms.

Notably, BigQuery served as a central source. It held Salesforce CRM data and also information from multiple other platforms that are critical for business operations.

The Process Included - 

· Multiple Connections: The initial stage involved integrating NetSuite with BigQuery. Fivetran enabled the ETL process, while Hightouch acted as the intermediate for reverse ETL.

· Data Linking: Our professionals synced the fields between Salesforce and NetSuite although there were no connections between them. We were able to transform Salesforce Accounts into NetSuite customers, Products into Items, and Opportunities into Invoices. Hightouch was used for the mapping.

· Invoice Creation: Opportunities in Salesforce traversed multiple systems. Opportunities were stored in BigQuery. The user can generate corresponding invoices in NetSuite using reverse ETL. This ensures accurate, real-time billing based on purchases.

The BigQuery to NetSuite integration required careful handling of data from Salesforce, BigQuery, and other platforms. Coordinating these systems and ensuring accurate data integration and mappings posed initial challenges.

Additionally, adapting the existing workflow to accommodate the new automated processes required meticulous planning to prevent disruptions.

By implementing our solution, the client achieved several key benefits:
