A Malaysian manufacturer of vegetable oil products approached Jobin & Jismi with a request. They wished to simplify their item fulfilment process via QR code scanning.
The client has two modern fully automated plants. They manufacture food-grade metal and plastic packaging products of different shapes and sizes. The firm also owns a fleet of vehicles, including trucks, stainless steel tankers, and container trucks. Their transportation wing ensures quick and efficient delivery of goods, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and the company's success.
Problem Statement
The client expressed the need to introduce NetSuite customization for fulfilling sales orders through trucks. As part of this system, they required a single fulfilment record for each truck. When a truck loads for delivery, it creates a record of this fulfillment.
It contains all relevant information about the contents and destination. The workers had to scan each pallet in the truck and feed the data to the system after the completion of work orders. This ensures that workers correctly take into account each pallet and include it in the fulfillment record.
But there was a potential issue with concurrent users trying to fulfil the same sales order at the same time. If one user partially fulfills an order using warehouse management system (WMS), another tries the same causing concurrency. This results in inconsistency in the data causing errors.
