Preparing a New Inventory Aging Report Using NetSuite
A leading business management firm in Thailand approached us with a requirement to create a new report to fetch data from purchase orders and item receipts. The enterprise wanted details from inventory item Lot/ Serial item that are still available on the date recall report.
They required us to create a new report named ‘Inventory Aging Report’ to retrieve data from Purchase orders and Item receipts to get details from inventory item Lot/ Serial items that are still available on the date recall report. They also required an option for downloading the reports in Excel format.
A report on inventory age contains crucial information on inventory movement. Typically, the report details the number of days a product remains in the storage area or warehouse, beginning with the day it was acquired.
A detailed inventory aging report can offer crucial information about slow-moving products and products that customers seldom or never purchase. It also assists management in determining how much they are paying to keep particular products in inventory for longer periods.
Our experts achieved this requirement through the creation of a new report. We used the saved search to retrieve data from Purchase orders and Item receipts with details from inventory item Lot/Serial items that are still available on the date recall report. We restructured the data as per the client’s requirement and displayed it on a custom page. We also included different date ranges and columns in the report as per the requirement. We provided pagination and filters option on that page. The report first displays a detailed report based on the required filters, including the Subsidiary and As at date filters. Further, it will display a summary of the total amounts in the last row of the report.
In order to download the detailed report in Excel format, our developers added an Export button on the Suitelet page. Thus, they can download and print the report in the required Excel format.
Our experts attained the requirements successfully. Now the client will get a detailed report on the Purchase orders, Item receipts and inventory. They are also able to download the report in Excel format.
